mmdeinternational.com - 🌱 U.S. Soy Harvest 73% Complete, Corn 🌽 at 59%, Say Analysts 📊

Farmers in the U.S. were nearing completion of the soybean harvest and making solid progress with the corn crop, despite recent showers that delayed field work in the eastern half of the Corn Belt. A poll of 11 analysts found the soybean harvest at about 73% complete by Sunday, and the corn harvest at roughly 59% complete. The ranges were wide: 61%–82% for soybeans and 51%–66% for corn. Because of the ongoing federal government shutdown, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) had not released its weekly crop progress report since Sept. 29, increasing reliance on private estimates. For comparison, a year ago the USDA reported soybeans 81% harvested and corn 65% at this point—both were at fast‑pace levels aided by dry conditions. Analysts on average rated 63% of the current U.S. corn crop in “good‑to‑excellent” condition, down one point from the previous week’s poll.  Winter wheat planting is also underway: analysts estimated 75% complete for the 2026 crop, up from 66% the prior week. Key figures:

  • Soybeans harvested: ≈ 73% (range 61–82%)
  • Corn harvested: ≈ 59% (range 51–66%)
  • Corn in good/excellent condition: ≈ 63%
  • Winter wheat planted: ≈ 75%
