The Government of Zambia has announced that it will complete all outstanding payments to farmers who supplied maize to the Food Reserve Agency (FRA) by October 31, 2025. According to the Ministry of Agriculture, funds have been secured to ensure that every farmer who delivered maize during the 2025 marketing season receives full payment before the end of the month. The move is part of the government’s continued commitment to supporting the agricultural sector and ensuring that farmers are paid promptly for their produce.
Officials say the timely release of payments will boost farmers’ confidence, enhance productivity, and prepare them for the upcoming farming season.
The government has also reaffirmed its dedication to strengthening food security and improving livelihoods across rural communities.
